What is So Special about NUNA Strollers

If you look into the history of strollers, you will find that the products were first introduced in Europe. The architect William Kent made them as aristocratic products for the children of the Duke of Devonshire, William Cavendish.

At that time, designs and materials were much more important than any other features. Much later, in the 1800s USA vendors worked to bring cheaper versions of baby strollers for the population in states.

If you want to know more about stroller types and their histories behind them, then you should read my blog.

NUNA strollers have brought some very important features in their design having their root of technology in Europe. Their material, foldability, and promoting children-friendly products to the fullest all make their products so unique.

Right now, their owner is a Taiwanese Company. Having roots in Europe and Asia makes NUNA products unique and special.

Above all, they promote those products that help the kids and parents.

Timeline of NUNA

The History of NUNA Baby

NUNA started its journey in 2007. Erwin van den Heuvel was the founder of NUNA. It was based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The designs are inspired by their Dutch heritage till now for this. NUNA started its journey with exclusive high chairs. But their design and engineering technology made a name for the strollers.

The first stroller from NUNA was called the PEPP. It was in 2008 when NUNA launched this. As time passed by, in 2013, NUNA became a brand of Pipa BV.

Infant car seats that can transit to become a stroller all of a sudden – made NUNA most famous. The materials are simple, kid-friendly, and specially knitted. So, beauty, and simplicity were their motto from the beginning.

In 2019, YAMAZEN Corporation bought a major share of NUNA. Later Wonderland Nurserygoods took NUNA and it became a part of both European and Taiwanese heritage.

Later the company established its headquarters in San Fransisco, California, and put its manufacturing plant in an ISO 14001-certified factory. It amplifies the environmentally-friendly part of NUNA’s operations.

Along with kid-friendly products manufacturing, they also put similar effort to keep the environment clean. So, it can be easily said that the company has operations all over globally.

It has bound the technology and heritage of Europe with the beauty of states and the manufacturing superiority of Asia.

NUNA produces different baby products

What kind of products does NUNA produce?

NUNA produces many types of solutions for parents. Unlike other premium brands, like UPPABABY, NUNA does not limit itself to producing only a few ranges of products.

They have ample designers to work with who have creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for children. Most of the products from NUNA can be categorized into the following ranges:

  • Bassinets
  • Infant Car Seats
  • Strollers
  • Double Strollers
  • Travel System
  • Playards
  • Baby Seat & Rocker
  • High Chair
  • Baby Carrier
  • Accessories

The product ranges can be assured to have many products under them to choose from. One is better than the other. I would like to mention some of their products that I have come across and liked a lot. Among them, the following are the most suitable ones for any kid of the age according to my testing-

  • CUDL Carrier
  • Leaf Grow Baby Seat & Rocker
  • ZAZZ Highchair
  • Demi Grow Bassinet
  • TAVO Next Stroller
  • Trvl+Pipa Urban Travel System

Each one of them comes with different features as the products are very different from one another. But among all the strollers from NUNA, this list contains my favorite ones.

But I cannot say I will not like the other products in the future. Because I have seen many NUNA products till now but certainly not every one of the products NUNA offers.

I would like to tell you a little about the above-mentioned products. CUDL carrier is ergonomically friendly to the kids.

On the other hand, the rocker and the high seats are better in quality and material than other similar products in the market. NUNA is known for its materials and certifications and you will get to see its superiority in these products.

The bassinet and the strollers are very very friendly to be carried from one place to another with hands or in the car. NUNA is very well known for its foldability and being compact as a suitcase easily with one touch. You cannot deny the usefulness.

But last but not least, as for a full travel system, the Trvl+Pipa is my favorite as the parts complement each other perfectly.

NUNA has gained many certifications

Certifications

You should always consider checking the certifications a stroller company has. All the stroller producers should have quality certifications to meet the needs and demands of children’s health for example. Premium brands must have high-quality certifications.

NUNA has already established its reputation by gaining different certifications.

If we start from the manufacturing, their factory in China has ISO 14001 certifications, which reflects their operations being environmentally friendly.

Their products are GOLD certified by Greenguard. The certificate shows that baby products have low chemical emissions. Cheap baby products are always emitting high-frequency chemicals that can harm children.

The textile products used in the NUNA products are actually organic and it is proven by three certifications – OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and The Global Organic Textile Standard. The wool being used is Merino wool those do not harm the children.

NUNA has won Red Dot Design Award many times

Awards, & Collaborations

Now, I would like to talk about the awards and collaboration NUNA has. NUNA has already won the Red Dot Award many times. This award is offered for the best design in the products and for building the best brands depending on it.

Certainly winning it consecutively 5 years for different products and multiple times a year is not so easy for any company.

Besides, NUNA has also won the 2014 Design Excellence Award and the 2012/2013 Practical Parenting & Pregnancy Award Gold.

In 2009, NUNA won Dutch Design Award for Buggy and PEPP.

NUNA is directly associated with the ride-sharing app company UBER, for promoting safe parenting while in cars, Athletes for Hope – which works for charity for and with the help of athletes, Boston Red Sox, Howard University, Milwaukee Bucks, MACC fund which is working for children with cancer and PennState Health.

Besides, NUNA is also working with United Nations programs related to safe parenting on the roads.

NUNA has collaborations with many organizations

Warranty of NUNA Strollers

NUNA strollers, bassinets, and all the gears come with a minimum 2-year warranty. You can have them fixed from their points within the given time. This is a unique experience for the parents. I often visit their shops and see how good the parts are. I must say I always get quite satisfied.
