The History Behind the Name
I would first like to mention the history behind the name. Of course, in some Asian countries, UPPA means Big Bro or Dear, but the case is not the same for UPPABABY.
One very cute kid always called her parents “UPPA UPPA” when she wanted to be held by hand. It was her way of saying – “Please take me on your lap”. The parents listened to the UPPA talking and always picked her up when she asked for it.
That’s where the name UPPABABY took form. Later the parents founded the company and now you know the history behind the name.
How the Company Came into Being
UPPABABY is actually the brainchild of Bob and Lauren Monahan. Bob worked for some pretty famous companies on their products. Like Reebok and Ford. But his creativity was shown in the field of babies. With the design of strollers.
He was looking for a solution as a stroller that can turn into a pram or support an infant car seat. Thus, turning a stroller into a complete travel system becomes possible.
He certainly made it possible with the series of strollers introduced by UPPABABY later. The story that started in 2006 flourished much later.
Where is the Manufacturing Happening
